Elk jaar organiseert CoNet een fietstocht voor haar relaties.
Dit jaar is een bijzondere editie. We willen graag aandracht vragen voor Amy Pieters, een professioneel Nederlandse fietster. Amy heeft een tragisch ongeval gehad in Spanje tijdens een training. Momenteel is Amy aan het herstellen en werkt erg hard om weer in goede gezondheid te komen. Daarvoor vragen wij extra aandacht en ondersteuning.

Every year, we organize a cycling tour for all our partners, customers, family, and friends.
The CoNet cycling tour is about sharing a day with great people and doing what we love – cycling. However, this year’s ride is going to be a special one. This year, we are coming together to rise funds for Amy Pieters – a Dutch professional road and track cyclist.
Amy experienced a tragic fall during a training ride in Spain. Currently, she is in recovery and working hard to regain her health. Yet, with extra support, Amy can thrive even more!

Tijdens de CoNet Bike Ride van 2023 vragen wij aandacht voor Amy Pieters. Lees hieronder haar verhaal.
Amy heeft veel kwaliteiten, maar misschien wel degene die ik het meest waardeer in al die jaren dat we samen op pad waren, was dat ik altijd op haar kon rekenen. Natuurlijk als teamgenoot. Een leider die altijd gaat voor de overwinning, maar ook een renner die constant klaar staat om anderen te helpen en zichzelf op te offeren voor het team. Maar vooral als een altijd lachende vriend die luistert, begrijpt en helpt waar mogelijk. Amy is het soort vriend dat iedereen zou moeten hebben.
Het wordt tijd om een vriend voor Amy te worden.
Het tragische ongeval dat Amy en haar familie in december trof, heeft een diepe indruk gemaakt op iedereen die haar kende of volgde. De wielergemeenschap toonde diepe genegenheid voor zowel haar als haar dierbaren en het was geweldig om te zien dat iedereen dag in dag uit aan haar dacht en nog steeds denkt. Omdat ze op dezelfde manier nu vecht als persoon als dat ze dat deed op de fiets. Met veel denkkracht en moed. Ze bevindt zich in een omgeving, dagelijks omringd door familie of vrienden, waardoor ze elke dag kan werken aan het maken van kleine stapjes.

This year’s ride is going to be special. We are coming together to rise funds for Amy Pieters. Her story:
Amy has lots of qualities, but maybe the one I appreciate most over all these years we spent together on the road, was that I could always count on her. Of course as a teammate. A leader you can always be sure she is there for the win but also a rider constantly ready to help others and sacrifice herself for the good of the team. But most importantly, as an always smiling friend who listens, understands and helps whenever it is possible. Amy is the kind of friend everyone should have.
It is about time to be a good friend to Amy.
The tragic accident that hit Amy and her family back in December has deeply marked everyone who knew her or followed her. The cycling community showed deep affection to both her and her loved ones and it was great to see that everyone was and still is thinking of her every day. She is
fighting as hard now off the bike, as she did on the bike.
With a
lot of willpower and courage. She is in an environment surrounded daily by
family and friends that allows her to work on making small steps day by day.
